Dr. Reilly is a Pediatrician and a diplomate of the boards of Obesity Medicine and Clinical Lipidology. He has been a doctor since the last century and has worked at RBK since 1997.

Where did you grow up? If you didn’t grow up in the Long Island area, what brought you to Long Island, NY?

I grew up in queens and was drawn to long island to enjoy the environment.

Why did you decide to become a pediatrician? What attracted you to pediatrics?

I decided to become a pediatrician when I was 4 years of age. As I got older I realized that my personality lends itself to pediatrics, despite my serious nature.

What do you enjoy most about working with children, parents and families?

I enjoy interacting with the kids, and helping them to become the best version of themselves as they can be.

Tell us about your family. Do you have children? What do you like to do as a family?

I have two children who are both grown and paying taxes. We enjoy playing games and seeing new places.

What is a piece of life advice that you have for parents to give to their children (beyond what you learned in medical school)?

That being healthy is incredibly important to get whatever you want in life. Health does not happen by accident. We have to work at being healthy, we have to want it and prize it.

How do you maintain a healthy life style? What are some tips to share?

The 4 things are; eating healthy, sleeping enough, exercising, and being connected to others either socially or spiritually.
