Where did you grow up? If you didn’t grow up in the Long Island area, what brought you to Long Island, NY?

Born in NYC, grew up in Flushing, Queens and settled in Babylon, LI to work at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center – Emergency Services.

Why did you decide to become a pediatrician? What attracted you to pediatrics?

I love kids, and if raised and guided to good health they will have a great start as adults.

What do you enjoy most about working with children, parents and families?

They are full of love, energy and lots of fun. The parents & families show concern and want what’s best for their children.

Tell us about your family. Do you have children? What do you like to do as a family?

We have 2 sons and 4 Grandchildren and we love spending time together. The rest of the family is rather extensive, some here in the USA, the remainder in Colombia, and Panama.

What is a piece of life advice that you have for parents to give to their children (beyond what you learned in medical school)?

Spend quality time with your kids, Be a parent – not a friend, and listen to them but also show them love, encouragement and support to follow their dreams but most important, teach them to always be respectful and kind to others.

How do you maintain a healthy lifestyle? What are some tips to share?

I have a beautiful and supportive wife, I keep a positive and pleasant attitude and look for the “Good in People” and I’m always willing to help those in need.
