  • Do I need an appointment at RBK Pediatrics Urgent Care?

No appointment is necessary. We do suggest a call ahead at 631-666-KIDS just so that we may control the flow of cases.

  • Can I get advice over the phone?

No, we do not provide advice over the phone. Our staff will not make a determination about the condition of your child without proper examination. It is important to bring your child in so our clinical professionals can evaluate your child in person.

  • How long will my child wait to see a doctor?

Our priority is to get every patient seen as quickly as possible. While wait times do vary, our goal is to have all patients in and out of the doctors office within 30 minutes of arrival.

  • If we already have a pediatrician, can RBK’s Urgent Care Center still treat us?

Yes, RBK Pediatrics is designed to complement a patient’s primary care physician. We offer a convenient and comfortable alternative for patients who need to be seen when their pediatrician’s office is closed, typically on weeknights, weekends and holidays. When your visit is finished, we will supply you with the proper paperwork to send to your primary care physician if necessary.

  • What age patients do you see at RBK Pediatrics?

We see patients from birth through college.

  • What is the difference between RBK Pediatrics Urgent Care and other urgent care clinics across Long Island?

Unlike the typical urgent care clinic that caters mostly to adults, RBK Pediatrics provides care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents up til the age of 24. Other urgent care clinics may be open all day, but we believe it is important for children to be seen by their pediatrician whenever possible, and we only offer services when your primary doctor’s office is closed.

  • Does RBK Pediatrics accept insurance?

We accept most insurances. For an updated list of plans we accept, please visit our insurance page. If your insurance carrier is listed, you will be responsible for your co-payment, co-insurance, and any deductible required by your carrier.

  • What if I don’t have insurance or my insurance is not accepted at RBK Pediatrics?

If you do not have insurance or you have a plan that we are not contracted with, we can still see your child for a flat fee of $150. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, and major credit cards.

  • Can I bring my child to the Urgent Care Center for vaccinations and well-care visits?

No, RBK Pediatrics Urgent Care is not a substitute for your pediatrician or primary care physician. We do not offer immunizations, well-child visits, or school or sports physicals. It is in your child’s best interest for his or her primary doctor to perform these services or schedule an appointment at our main Commack office.

  • Do I need a referral from my doctor’s office?

Because we are an urgent care practice, no referral is necessary to be seen at RBK Pediatrics.
